One of my favorite things about summer is basil!
I really got into using fresh basil while living in California. We’d go to the farmer’s markets during the summer and buy bunches of basil which I’d bring home and make into delicious pesto and it was just the best.
Since then I’ve always grown basil in the yard – even when we lived in a townhouse with a postage stamp sized yard. I just gotta have my basil!
I’ve also branched out to other herbs: thyme, parsley, cilantro, rosemary, oregano. This summer I’m growing sage for the first time and I’m not sure what to do with it yet… but I’m going to figure it out.
