I’ve been working to add more native plants to my yard the past several years but it can be difficult to find nurseries to buy native plants from so I wanted to share a few of my favorites. Most of them are online but there are also a couple at the bottom that are local nurseries. Happy planting!
Tapteal Native Plants – https://www.taptealnativeplants.com/
This one is actually in my local area too but only open to the public a few days a year so shipping is still likely the best option. They have a good variety of both plants and seeds.
Everwilde Farms – https://www.everwilde.com/
The company only sells seeds but they have a really good variety of both native and non-native seeds. They also have maps for their native seeds so you can find out their native range and other information.
Plants of the Wild – https://plantsofthewild.com/
This is actually one I just learned about recently and I’m excited to make my first order. They sell both plants and seeds.
Great Basin Seed – https://greatbasinseeds.com/
We’ve bought a number of different wild flower mixes form Great Basin Seed. They have different mixes depending on which region you live in as well as a Xeriscape wild flower mix that is more general but great if you need something more drought -tolerant.
Fox River Valley Nursery – https://foxrivervalleynursery.com/
This nursery has a nice selection of bare root trees and shrubs. Both natives and non-natives.
Local Nurseries
Frog Hollow Farms – https://www.froghollowfarm.com/
Plants are available for local pick-up only. They carry a wide variety of plants and shrubs and the past few years that has also included natives like huckleberries, as well as both annual and perennial flowering plants.
Green Valley Gardens – https://greenvalleygardensww.com/
Plants are available for local pick-up only. They carry a wide variety of plants and shrubs. I’ve also found native plants here. Green Valley Gardens is also an arboretum so it’s a great please to wander around and planting ideas.
